Basic Hand-wash

  • Cool temperature. Place your silk piece in cold water with mild liquid detergent.
  • Never wash with chlorine bleach. In this way, you won't damage the clothing's natural fibers.
  • Do not dry in direct sunlight. This will make the color fade faster and would damage the silk fabric.
  • Do not tumble dry. As we said, silk is quite delicate thus high temperature will cause damage and fabric may shrink.
  • Iron in reverse and in low heat. After washing the fabric, sometimes we can't avoid having creases, ironing the piece is not a problem as long as you iron on the back side using low heat. You may also iron it from mid- high heat but always have a cotton towel between the silk and the iron.

Toss it under the Machine

  • Sort your laundry. Remember that this fabric is delicate, so do not mix it with heavy pieces such as jeans.
  • Place silk piece in a mesh bag. Use a laundry net when washing silk to avoid any abrasive damage.
  • Load the machine. Use a mild liquid detergent when washing your silk piece. Do not overload the machine. Choose the option delicate cycle.
  • Dry the silk. You may hang it up and avoid it from direct sunlight. Remember, when ironing, iron on reverse side and in a very low heat. Otherwise, use a cotton cloth over the silk piece.
